Privacy Policy

How Rap Joint Lagos collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Last updated: September 11, 2026.

Who we are

This policy explains how Rap Joint Lagos (“RJL”, “we”, “us”), operated by [full legal entity name], of No. 4 Norman Williams Street, off Keffi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria, collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit rapjointlagos.com, shop with us, book an event, or apply for membership. We handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation.

What we collect

When you contact us

Our contact form collects your name, email address, phone number, and message.

When you shop

Checkout collects your name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number, and order details. Payment is currently by direct bank transfer: you transfer to RJL’s own bank account using the details shown at checkout, so we don’t collect or store any card details, and no third-party payment processor is currently involved in a purchase. If that changes — for example, if we add a card payment gateway — we’ll update this section to name it.

When you apply for membership

Our membership form collects your title, full name, email, phone number, mailing address, and a photo you upload for your membership record.

Automatically, as you browse

Like most websites, we use cookies for essentials such as keeping items in your cart and keeping you logged in. See “Cookies” below.

How we use your data

  • To process and deliver orders, and to handle payments, returns, and refunds
  • To process membership applications and manage your membership
  • To respond to messages sent through the Contact page
  • To send order and delivery updates
  • [If you send marketing emails/newsletters: to send updates about events, new arrivals, or offers — only where you’ve opted in, with an unsubscribe link in every email]
  • To keep the Site secure and prevent fraud
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share what’s necessary to run the business with:

  • Our website hosting provider, to keep the Site running
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where we’re legally required to

We currently deliver orders ourselves rather than through an automated courier-booking platform, so your delivery address isn’t currently shared with a third-party logistics service. If we start using one — we’ve trialled this before and may again — we’ll name it here and update this section first.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are necessary for the Site to work: keeping your cart contents and your login session. We don’t currently run analytics or marketing cookies (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel). If that changes, we’ll list them here and add a cookie consent banner with the option to decline non-essential cookies before this policy goes live in that form.

How long we keep your data

We keep order records for six years, the standard period for tax and accounting records under Nigerian law. Membership records are kept for as long as your membership is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for our records. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:

  • Confirm what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy of it
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data, where we’re not required to keep it for legal reasons
  • Restrict or object to certain uses of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on your consent (e.g. marketing emails)

To exercise any of these, email info@rapjointlagosng.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you think we’ve mishandled your data.

Children’s data

Membership sign-up and online purchases are intended for adults. Evening sessions and events with alcohol service are restricted to guests 18 and over, matching the general age of majority recognised under Nigerian law — confirm this matches RJL’s actual policy before publishing. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children beyond what’s needed for a family visiting the restaurant or store in person.

Keeping your data secure

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including secure hosting and restricting access to those who need it to do their job. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change. The version posted here is always the current one, and we’ll update the “last updated” date above when we do.
