Terms and Conditions

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website at rapjointlagos.com (the “Site”), and your purchases, bookings, and membership with Rap Joint Lagos (“RJL”, “we”, “us”), operated by [full legal entity name, e.g. “Rap Joint Lagos Limited”, RC number], with its registered address at No. 4 Norman Williams Street, off Keffi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria. By using the Site, buying from us, booking an event, or joining as a member, you agree to these terms.

2. The site and its content

Product descriptions, event listings, journal posts, and other content on the Site are provided for information and are accurate to the best of our knowledge at time of publishing. We may update, correct, or remove content at any time without notice.

3. Accounts

Some parts of the Site, including checkout and membership sign-up, require an account or the information an account would hold. You’re responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at info@rapjointlagosng.com if you think your account has been compromised.

4. Orders and payment

Placing an order through the Site is an offer to buy, which we accept when we confirm and process your order. Payment is currently by direct bank transfer to RJL’s own account, shown at checkout — we don’t currently process card payments through a third-party payment gateway. Prices are listed in Nigerian Naira (₦) and include or exclude VAT as shown at checkout; delivery charges are shown separately before you pay.

We take reasonable care to display accurate prices and stock levels, but errors happen — if an item is mispriced or out of stock after you order, we’ll contact you before charging you, and you can cancel or accept the corrected price.

Delivery timeframes, shipping costs, and our returns and refund process are set out in full on our Shipping & Returns page, which forms part of these terms.

6. Memberships

Day Pass, Full Member, and Patron memberships are described, with current pricing, on our Members page. [Confirm and add: renewal/auto-renewal terms, cancellation notice period, refund policy for cancelled memberships, and what happens to unused Book Club or event allowances on cancellation.] Membership is personal to the member named on the application and is not transferable without our written agreement.

7. Events and bookings

Tickets and table bookings made through the Site are confirmed once payment is received. [Confirm and add: cancellation/refund window for tickets, what happens if RJL cancels or reschedules an event, and any age or capacity restrictions specific to ticketed events.]

8. On the premises

Visiting the physical space is also governed by our House Guidelines, covering conduct in the listening room, group visits, photography, and similar matters.

9. User conduct and content

If you leave a review, comment, or any other content on the Site, you confirm it’s your own honest view, doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights, and isn’t defamatory, obscene, or unlawful. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Site and in our marketing. We can remove content that breaches this without notice.

10. Intellectual property

The RJL name, logo, and original site content (text, photography, design) belong to RJL or its licensors. Product images and descriptions for third-party stock (books, records, and similar) remain the property of their respective publishers, labels, or rights holders. You may not copy, resell, or otherwise reuse our content without permission.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Site or the premises, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order, booking, or membership. Liability caps and exclusions like this have specific requirements under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 — this clause should be reviewed and tailored by counsel before publishing.

12. Privacy

How we collect and use your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time of your order, booking, or renewal is the one that applies.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, matching where RJL operates — confirm this is the preferred venue before publishing.
